Sheri dedicated 34 years to the University of Illinois Extension, shaping the 4-H program through her leadership, innovation, and commitment to volunteerism. She began her career as an Extension Home Economist but found her passion in youth development, serving as a Youth Adviser, Extension Educator, and ultimately as the State Extension Volunteer Specialist. Her influence extended beyond Illinois, contributing to national 4-H initiatives, developing volunteer training systems, and fostering community partnerships. She played a pivotal role in creating competency-based training models, character education programs, and inclusive outreach efforts, including impactful work with Hispanic communities. Sheri was a mentor, collaborator, and role model who led by example, always prioritizing service to others. She passed away on April 21, 2019, leaving an indelible mark on 4-H.

Sheri Seibold’s 4-H story is one of extraordinary mentorship, collaboration, and service. Throughout her career, Sheri served as a trusted mentor to countless new Extension staff, generously offering her time, knowledge, and encouragement to ensure their success.
