Mary Frances Smith was involved with the Indiana 4-H Program for over 80 years. She was active in 4-H clubs as a youth and served as a club leader while teaching in Indiana schools. Smith served on the state 4-H staff at Purdue from July 1950 until retirement in September 1976. As a staff member, she worked tirelessly to organize and conduct 4-H adult volunteer training programs, judges clinics, and other workshops. For many years she was involved in national 4-H Congress in Chicago. She still resides alone on her family farm.
Smith was devoted to the 4-H Program. She worked tirelessly behind the scenes to develop youth and volunteers to their fullest potential.
