During his distinguished 37-year career with the Louisiana Cooperative Extension Service, Dr. Jack Bagent earned a reputation as an expert entomologist and a dedicated, caring leader. His tireless professionalism became his trademark. Early in his career he spent countless hours traveling the state to help solve agricultural producers’ problems. Later, he applied that same dedication to effectively leading the team of professionals in the Environmental Sciences Division. In recent years, most of his days, nights and weekends were given to solving the administrative challenges facing the LSU Ag Center’ Cooperative Extension Service and negotiating issues of broad concern on regional and national committees.
