Fran has served Atlantic County New Jersey 4-H for 67 years as leader of the Cologne Busy Bees, ” the Best Better” by expecting members to participate in all aspects of 4-H, including community service, Adopt-A-Road, Adopt-A-Family, Veteran Home visits, and volunteering for local fire company’ dinner. At age 93 she hosts weekly meetings at her home to teach 4-H members sewing, cooking, canning, freezing, crocheting, and food & nutrition. At the state level, she drove a bus to 4-H summer camp 5 years, chaperoned summer camp 5 years, attended weekend clean-ups at 4-H camp 10 years. She served on the State Advisory Council 13 years, on the State Fashion Show planning committee 20 years, NJ Ag Fair Association 10 years.
Fran attended the Northeast Regional Leaders’ Forum 10 years, served on the hosting committee for NJ and made the ” Fresh” costumes for Atlantic County volunteers. She helped organize Public Presentations, Favorite Food Show, and 4-H Open House among many other events. She is active in Atlantic County Leaders and Fair Associations and Ways and means committee (both 67 year), Family Consumer Science committee, Scholarship committee, 4-H Fair committee chicken barbeque, baby parade, and helping in the treasurer’ office. She was chaperone at State Cookoff 10 years and Teen Expo 10 years. She hosted a chaperone through 4-H Japanese Exchange Program 2 years.
