Charles Todd began his 4-H career thirty-eight years ago as a parent and volunteer in King County. At the club and district leadership levels, Chuck quickly rose to become a countywide leader, including representing the 4-H Program on the King County Fair Board. Statewide leadership followed, mentoring the State Teen Ambassadors, and serving on the Washington State 4-H Advisory Board as a vital officer (Treasurer), Chuck helps facilitate our major State 4-H Conferences. Chuck served as a volunteer representative to the U.S. Department of Energy’ STEM Initiative. As a ” the Trainer,” Chuck has reached over 500 youths in grades K-12 with STEM programming.
Chuck’ professional background as an engineer and practical experience working with young people makes him an ideal curriculum developer. He was on the initial Cooperative Curriculum System (CCS) design team for the National Computer Curriculum and co-authored the first nationally juried and published 4-H computer curriculum. Chuck works with members and volunteers to conduct research, and formulate plans dealing with the challenge surrounding funding for projects and events. With his experience and training in fund management, he is a valuable resource for our non-profit charity rules and regulations, keeping us all in line with requirements and guidelines.
