An eight-year member, Craig joined 4-H in the 4th grade. Living in a rural area, 4-H became an important social outlet. He remembers fondly the meetings in different families’ homes, the pride in his projects and activities like livestock judging at ranches on the Southfork of the Shoshone River. In his roles as Executive Vice President of Wyoming Farm Bureau and Manager of Wyoming Rural Electric Association, he stayed in touch with 4-H in his adult life. As a volunteer, he was instrumental in the creation of the Wyoming State 4-H Foundation in the 70′ and served many years on its Board of Directors.
An eight-year 4-H member in Wyoming, Thomas’ projects were gardening, swine and beef. His family owned and operated a dude ranch near Yellowstone National Park in northwest Wyoming.
